These dementia features will go out in the pan-regional section of the programme at approximately 6.15pm each day.
The features are:
Tuesday 8th: Looks at:
- What dementia is;
- Predictions in the numbers who will get it ;
- The fact
that many patients and carers say care isn’t all it should be at the
moment; and
- Introduces the dementia strategy
Wednesday 9th: Looks at:
- Some of what is being done in the South West to improve the lot of patients;
- Star system in Cornwall; and
- Training for home carers in Gloucester etc
Thursday 10th Looks at:
- The views of younger sufferers and their specific needs (quite a personal view)
Friday 11th: Looks at:
- Research, funding for it - A lot of the filming is at the brain bank at Frenchay
