Project Outline
South West Development Centre is in the early stages of developing some work to engage key stakeholders within Primary Care Trusts and Mental Health Providers in order to raise awareness about patient safety in mental Health Services. This work also aims to broker the development of measure and actions needed to improve patient safety.

The project will be developed through the work of the regional Mental Health Risk Network using action learning methodologies with the key outcomes being the development of local improvement plans and the incorporation of lessons learned from homicides into PCT, Provider and Strategic Health Authority performance management frameworks and processes.
