The following information provides the political context and how that is being delivered in the South West through a range of partners.
It also provides some insights into how local people are taking forward employment initiatives and features of just some of the development work in the South West region to enable us to share good practice and promote service improvements across sectors.
There have been four publications published at the end of 2009 which all promote aspects of the mental health and employment agenda.

Seven government departments are engaged with the Social Exclusion Task force within central Government, accountability for delivery is shared across these seven departments: There is a strong emphasis in many of the policies to improve data gathering and sharing. This is further supported by the total place and more recently the one place website. It brings together the views of six independent inspectorates: the Audit Commission, Care Quality Commission, Ofsted, and Her Majesty's Inspectorates of Constabulary, Prisons and Probation. Working together, who have looked at how well local public services are delivering the things that are important where you live - not just in the past, but now and for the future. Themes of working across agencies in the local area are central to many policies across different work streams and are crucial to the service improvement work. These points are further emphasized in Putting the frontline first.
