 Key features

 North Somerset consortium is a well established partnership between North Somerset Council, Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership, Weston College, the Workers Education Authority and third sector providers across North Somerset.

Strong links exist between the Consortium and Working Links and Tomorrows People and a local employment providers forum operates across North Somerset.

The Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme is called Positive Steps http://www.positivestep.net/ ,and is a tripartite partnership between Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health partnership , Second Step and Atos.

The two have joined as a partnership to deliver the employment aspects of both IAPT clients.

The IAPT employment money is being used to fund a further post at the Carlton Centre to expand the courses on offer through the positive steps programme, geared towards people wanted to gain employment. There is a volunteering aspect to the positive steps service to help people regain confidence and skills for work.

There are plans to work towards providing the Individual Placement and Support Scheme across North Somerset
