Series: Previous event -> Applying the Mental Capacity Act in residential homes and hospitals - NOW FULLY BOOKED

Date: 23rd Nov 2009

Event time: 09:30 to 15:30

Although the Mental Capacity Act has now been implemented for two years many residential home and nursing care staff are still unclear of their responsibilities as required by the legislation and how best to work within those responsibilities when providing care, treatment and care planning for those who lack capacity. The balancing of legislative requirements and an individual’s rights, freedom of choice and their duty of care can sometimes appear to be conflicting and confusing.

At the end of this event, attendees will have the knowledge required, to apply the Mental Capacity Act requirements to the provision of daily care, treatment and longer term care planning, whilst working within the legislative requirements.
