Programme description

The Children & Families section of the website is undergoing a re-vamp at present and new material is being added on a regular basis.  Please visit again soon to check on the new material.

The programme works with a wide range of statutory and voluntary sector partners to promote service improvement and development in line with the Department of Health (DH) and Department for Education (DfE) national policy.  Priorities are agreed with the Strategic Health Authority (SHA) and locally tailored support is offered to PCTs and their partners.  A focus for 2011-12 is supporting local systems to respond to the proposed structural changes to the NHS in a way that secures improved outcomes for children and young people.
