The South West Development Centre:

• provides capacity and expertise in service improvement, system reform and redesign across health and social care
• works in partnership with clinicians, managers and staff to identify and address opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of services
• supports and facilitates local learning, capacity and leadership development among clinicians, managers and staff in order to continue to raise the standards of care, improve the experience of people who use services, and improve health and wellbeing outcomes
• contributes to the development of, and support the implementation of measures and metrics to inform performance assessment and management, commissioning, and service improvement
• supports the development and implementation of national policy and guidance, and
• disseminates learning, best practice and innovation.
